This course examines the sharp contrast Scripture draws between the fear of the Lord and the deception of folly. Wisdom calls sinners to repentance, humility, and the knowledge of the Holy One—the beginning of true understanding. Folly, by contrast, mimics Wisdom’s invitation while concealing death behind stolen pleasures and empty promises.
Designed for discipleship, personal study, and biblical counseling contexts, this course helps students discern between truth and counterfeit wisdom, recognize the moral clarity Scripture insists upon, and respond rightly to God’s gracious call. Proverbs 9 leaves no neutral ground: to hear Wisdom is to gain life; to embrace Folly is to choose destruction. This course presses that choice home with pastoral seriousness and biblical clarity.
