Help for Hurting Pastors
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
You're not alone
we know how you feel
As a pastor, you are committed to serving the people of God. That’s what you do. That’s what you are all about. You serve your people and help them in ways that they don’t even understand. You are there at the bedside and the graveside. You counsel the marriage that is falling apart. You bring reconciliation between a rebellious teen and their parents. You do what you can and give all that you have.
But sometimes, the sheep have teeth. They don’t see what you are doing nor do they care to find out. You try to do what you can to help them but you they turn and bite you. Hard.
Then there are the men you serve with. Your fellow elders and deacons are the men that you rely on. They are the ones that you expect to be their for you. You don’t expect them to throw you under the bus.
We've been there
Were you told that you can’t tell people about Jesus unless you are friends with them? Are your elders having secret meetings without you? Did you go above and beyond what your church asked of you and it still isn’t enough? Are you being forced to resign? Did your church pay for an expensive remodel but can’t give you your paycheck on time?
Yep. We’ve been there. Talk with people that know what you are going through because they’ve been through it before.
