Wisdom That Works: The Fruit of a God-Fearing Life

People often think of Proverbs 31 as a strict rule or an impossible goal. In fact, it paints a rich picture of wisdom lived out over time—a life shaped by the fear of the Lord and shown through faithful stewardship, purposeful work, and lasting fruit.

This class goes through Proverbs 31 as a whole, showing students not only what the good wife does, but also why she does it. We start by asking the most important question: “What are you doing?” We look at how wisdom helps us set our priorities, duties, and daily work before God. From there, we look at the traits of a good wife, not as a list of things to do, but as a picture of godly faithfulness that comes from respecting the Lord. Lastly, we look at the fruit of her hands to show that true wisdom produces visible, lasting fruit that helps others and honors God.

Students will be asked to think biblically about calling, hard work, stewardship, and praise throughout the course. They will learn how the fear of the Lord leads to a life of quiet strength, dignity, and faithfulness. Instead of being a burden, Proverbs 31 becomes an invitation to live wisely, fruitfully, and for God’s glory.
